To assist our customers in their ever increasing need for low cost tooling solutions Rapid has teamed with a very select number of qualified vendors internationally. Our model allows us to provide you with total US support, start to finish, while eliminating common issues like communication, poor quality, delivery and warranty.
Communication: All communication with the customer, which includes quoting, design review, engineering changes, sampling etc, is direct with Rapid here in the states.
Tool Build: After design approval your tool will be placed in the appropriate shop based on complexity and size of the tool and assigned a full time program manager to manage and follow the progress of that tool from start to finish. Our overseas Rapid staff, as well as our vendors, have a complete and total understanding of what our US tool expectations are and will ensure you are delivered a mold that will meet or exceed your expectations.
Progress Reports: Your US based program manager will be provided with regular progress reports from our staff oversees and will keep you abreast of your program weekly with progress reports and digital photos. Just like a US tool build any issue’s with regard to the progress will be brought to your attention promptly and collectively we will determine the best course of action.
Sampling: We are always present for the tool sampling and we sample every tool we build for at least three hours in a “production runoff”. Customers will be provided a video of that sample run and or may attend the sample with our Rapid staff at the vendor’s facility. T1 samples will be shipped to the customer for approval, price quoted also includes complete 1st article inspection with a maximum 15 dimensions two parts each cavity, prior to tool shipment. Additional sampling requirements such as FAT and US sampling/mold trial can be quoted upon request.
Final Inspection & Shipping: Post sampling and after part approval all tools will get a “final inspection” prior to shipment. Each tool is completely disassembled and checked for any leaks, wear, or any other undetected issues that occurred during the tool build. Unless otherwise noted all tools will be quoted FOB customer dock. Rapid will eliminate your need to arrange shipment and deal with issues like customs, insurance, duties etc.
Tool Book: Each tool Rapid builds comes with a “tool book” that includes a 3D tool design, bill of materials, steel and heat treat certs, set up sheet and 2D prints when requested.
